RSIC-1 Ceiling systems
The RSIC-1 clip can attach to wood, steel, concrete or brick. Ceilings: The RSIC-1 clips have proven to be the best option for acoustically treating the ceiling gypsum. The builder usually asks how much more then Rc-Channel is the RSIC-1 clip going to cost me. The truth is that the RSIC-1 clips in most cases can replace the RC-Channel, and the acoustical mat under the gypcrete. This makes the RSIC-1 clips a very cost effective option. Usually saving the contractor/builder $1.70-$2.00 per square foot. See link to pdf on site: http://www.pac-intl.com/pdf/RSIC_vs_acoustical_mat_fc_cost_comparrison2.pdf
The floor ceiling assemblies are the hardest application to get testing for. Every floor ceiling assembly is a little bit different. We are working hard to get testing for the most common assemblies, but the there are so many variations to each assembly this has become a difficult task. We usually have something that is very close to the actual construction. You will have to send us the details or call for a review. We do have testing for TJI Joist, Steel C joist, Concrete, and Steel bar joist.
Performance: The RSIC-1 clips outperform the Unimast Rc-Deluxe by 7 IIC pts in a lab.(Unimast was bought out by Dietrich, who has changed the design). This means that we outperform the standard Rc-Channel by at a minimum of 10-15 STC and IIC pts. This allows more flexibility in construction design when considering toppings that will help the units sell faster.
Marketing: The RSIC-1 clip has proven to be a great product when it comes to marketing the quality of construction for the builder. We have several builders that have used the RSIC-1 clips to separate themselves from the other builders through their marketing campaigns. The best is a mach-up that we saw in Centex Home’s office. The sales people talked about how the RSIC-1 clips stopped the noise from the units above. This set the Centex condo project ahead of the other condos across the street, which was using Rc-Channel.
